Mid-June 2016: I had a very enjoyable day in June working with Sean Stolp and John Walker who came to my garden to help me with the workload of maintenance on my trees, and for me to compress this Chinese Juniper belonging to Sean..
Sean had already done an excellent job of carving the base of the Juniper, but it needed some heavy bends to get the foliage closer to the base.
Mid-June 2016: John Walker working on my Tilia cordata /Small-Leaved Lime, giving it a much needed trim!
Mid-June 2016: Beginning work on a further refinement of the deadwood of one of my big Privet bonsai.
Mid-June 2016: Work on the Privet (in anticipation of a new Thor Holvila skull pot) was completed a few days later with wiring and styling of the branches, following refinement of the deadwood. For the full story of this tree, please see Privet Bonsai Progression Series
Mid-June 2016: One of my favourite Hawthorn collected last Winter, a gnarly old tree with a lot of deadwood and very cracked bark.
Mid-June 2016: Within 6 months the same tree had grown new extensions of over 12"/30cm and was in very good health.
