Early February 2016: Acer buergerianum/Trident Maple Bonsai, belonging to a client, before and after re-styling. I prefer not to wire Trident Maples during the Winter as it can result in dieback. Therefore, after styling this tree was kept in an unheated greenhouse to protect it from Spring frosts.
The Trident Maple Bonsai a few weeks later after repotting into a vintage Japanese pot (Heian Chikuzan).
Height 10"/24cm, trunkbase 4.5"/11cm
Early February 2016: An updated image of my massive Ulmus procera/ English Elm bonsai after refining the deadwood in January 2016. It was then pruned with the help of student Alex Mai Bonsai, adding to the major wiring job apprentice Sean Stolp and I carried out the year previously.
Height above the pot:27"/69cm
Trunkbase: 17"/43cm wide
Overall width of the bonsai: 39"/89cm

Early February 2016: This is small-leaved privet, belonging to student Alex Mai Bonsai, was repotted into a new pot from Thor Holvila in early February. It seems to suit the privet perfectly!
I originally dug the privet from a hedge a few years ago and it was in the process of having its upper branches and apices built after thickening of the trunkleaders last year.

Early February 2016: Another tree belonging to Alex Mai Bonsai after repotting in early February. An Acer buergerianum/Trident Maple Bonsai, height approx 10"/24cm.
Alex brought along a range of pots for us to plant this bonsai into and we chose this Japanese Watanabe Ikkou bonsai pot.
