Hawthorn Bonsai Progression

Summer 2003

3 years later, July 2006. There have been a few changes to this tree in the past 3 years; unfortunately none of which were photographed

The bonsai was restyled during 2004, 'compressing' the overall design of the tree. The trunk was chopped leaving only the cascading branch which was then shortened. The intention of this styling was to make the trunk appear much aged and to increase the taper of the tree from the trunk to the tip of the cascading branch.

The tree was also potted into a new crescent pot by Erin Pottery in 2005 and the former back became the new 'front'.

Height of tree is now 7" with an overall width (from trunkbase to tip of the cascading branch) of 16".

November 2006: After the leaves fell in Autumn, the new lines of the bonsai became more evident.
