These Mountain Hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana ) are found near Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada. Each tells its life's story of struggling to survive in this harsh environment at 1100-1200 metres above sea level, where there was still snow lying on the ground when these pictures were taken during August 2008.
