This week I discuss Spruce as bonsai and show the process of repotting in late Summer for a smooth transition into a bonsai pot.
The tree featured in the video was started 40 years ago from seed in 1982 by Mei at my local Chiltern Bonsai Society. A Picea pungens/Colorado Spruce that has had something of a frugal existence living in poor soil inside a plastic container for so long! The tree has wonderful bark, great overall vitality and is ready for styling as soon as it goes dormant this Winter. I will update later in the year after wiring and styling.
