Acer palmatum/ Japanese Maple atropurpureum bonsai (red leaf) with red summer leaves. Grown from seed by the previous owner over many years (decades), the tree has a good age demonstrated by the maturing bark.

The maple has been newly slip-potted into good quality soil after being rootbound for a number of years. I would recommend allowing it to grow in its new substrate at least until Spring 2024. A good nebari is already developing.

Good tight ramification, no wire marks and short internodes. The tree can be wired to get the best out of the tree. I am expecting that all of these trees will grow substantially this year having been given fresh soil to grow into.
