Nibbler R-mini

The three tungsten carbide cutting tips in this Nibbler are indexable and replaceable. When the edges are blunt you simply unscrew the tips and turn them to a fresh edge. The tips are normally used in the metal-cutting industry to cut stainless steel so they will last a very, very long time cutting wood.

All the Nibblers are made from T431 grade stainless steel, which has nearly double the tensile strength of 304 grade stainless steel. T431 stainless steel is difficult to machine but it is worth it for the extra rigidity in the Nibbler.

  • For use ONLY in a 3.2mm (1/8") collet
  • 4.5mm neck diameter
  • 16mm head diameter
  • 35mm long
  • CNC machined from a single piece of T431 high-tensile stainless steel
  • 3 Micrograin Tungsten carbide cutting tips
  • Maximum 33000 rpm
  • Complete with tips, screws and screwdriver
  • Replacement tips and screws are available from Bonsai Nibblers, should they be required in the future.

  • Footage of Harry Harrington using a T-Maxi fitted to a Dremel 4000 to carve some very tough old hawthorn. Note the 'V' or triangular shape of the cut. The R-maxi nibblers give a more rounded cut. This ability to cut wood with great ease can be achieved with all types of Dremel multi-tool machines and with all types of Bonsai Nibbler.
Not only essential for shaping intricate deadwood, Bonsai Nibblers are extremely useful for rapid trunkchops, branch cutting as well as removal of heavy roots during repotting.
