Many people will know this Field Elm bonsai (ulmus minor) from my book “Bonsai Inspirations 1”, but this is the first time I’ve tried to show it in the round. Developed from an airlayered branch over just 10 years, the tree is just 17″/42cm in height. It dropped its leaves a week ago and he been given its annual autumn prune; thankfully the tree does not require wiring anymore.
